https://jpmi-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JPMI/article/view/218

The development of information technology has driven increased social media use among various groups, including housewives. However, unwise use of social media can have various negative impacts, such as the spread of cybercrimes, hoaxes, privacy violations, and a decline in the quality of social interactions. This community service activity aims to improve digital literacy by educating women at the Majlis Ta'lim Al-Barokah Islamic study group on the wise use of social media. The method used is educational counseling with a lecture approach and interactive discussions. Evaluation done using pre-tests and post-tests on 30 participants. The results showed an increase in the average score from 2.7 to 4.13. Analysis using N-Gain yielded a score of 0.78, which is considered high. This indicates that the outreach activities were effective in increasing participants' understanding of the wise use of social media.
Dewi Primasari, Nurul Kamilah, Freza Riana, Erwin Hermawan, Jejen Jaenudin

https://jpmi-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JPMI/article/view/215

Limited public lighting in rural areas remains a significant obstacle affecting community safety, mobility, and socio-economic activities. This Community Service Program aims to improve energy independence in Seuseupan Village, Caringin District, Sukabumi Regency, through the implementation of a solar panel-based public lighting system. Implementation methods included field observations, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), technical training on solar energy, installation of solar lamps in strategic locations, and monitoring and evaluation of system performance and program impact. Results showed that the solar panel installation improved the quality of lighting in public areas, strengthened people's sense of security at night, and reduced electricity costs by 37%. Furthermore, increased access to lighting contributed to a 23% increase in community economic activity while also increasing community knowledge and participation in the management of renewable energy technologies. This program demonstrates that utilizing solar energy is an effective, economical, and sustainable solution to support village infrastructure development. The program's implementation is based on the goal of achieving energy-independent villages and smart villages, and has the potential to be replicated in other regions with similar geographic conditions and needs. The program's success is measured not only by the technical aspects of installing the solar panel system, but also by the development of community awareness of the importance of utilizing clean energy as an alternative energy source. A participatory approach involving village governments, community groups, and implementers fosters a sense of ownership of the constructed facilities, thereby supporting the continuity of the operational and maintenance systems. Therefore, this community service model can serve as a reference for renewable energy-based community empowerment programs that support the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of clean energy, infrastructure development, and improving the quality of life of rural communities.
Teguh Puja Negara, Syarif Hidayatulah, Agus Ismangil

https://jpmi-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JPMI/article/view/219

The rapid development of globalization and digital technology has significantly influenced the character and social behavior of young generations, particularly in weakening religious awareness, social ethics, and cultural identity. In the context of Minangkabau society, these challenges have become increasingly concerning as many young people are gradually disconnected from mosque-centered activities and local cultural values rooted in the philosophy of “Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah.” Historically, mosques in Minangkabau function not only as places of worship but also as centers for moral education, social interaction, and cultural transmission. Therefore, this community service activity aimed to revitalize the role of Masjid Raya Padusunan Heritage Mosque in strengthening youth character through the integration of Islamic values and Minangkabau local wisdom. This activity was conducted on March 12, 2026, at Masjid Raya Padusunan, Pariaman City, using a participatory-educative approach. The program involved youth mentoring, interactive discussions, cultural reflection sessions, and character-building activities based on local wisdom values. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and participant response questionnaires. The results indicated a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the mosque’s role as a center for character development and cultural preservation. Approximately 85% of participants demonstrated improved awareness regarding the importance of Islamic and cultural values in everyday life, while 78% expressed motivation to become more actively involved in mosque activities. These findings suggest that revitalizing the social and educational functions of heritage mosques through culturally contextual approaches can effectively strengthen youth character and reinforce local identity amidst the challenges of globalization.
Hamzah Irfanda Fanda, Aldi Saputra, Syifa Ullinnas, Farida Ariani

https://jpmi-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/JPMI/article/view/217

The advancement of technology in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era requires educational institutions, especially vocational schools, to have reliable internet network infrastructure to support technology-based learning. However, prior to this community service activity, SMK Rahmatullah Al-Maarif in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia experienced several network problems, including slow internet connections, limited coverage areas, and inadequate network hardware, which hindered the implementation of digital learning activities. Therefore, this activity aimed to improve the school’s internet network infrastructure using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) method through the stages of analysis, design, prototype simulation, implementation, monitoring, and management. Network testing was conducted using Speedtest under normal school operational conditions by measuring download speed, upload speed, and latency on wired and wireless devices. The results showed that the implemented network infrastructure achieved an average download speed of 41.55 Mbps on wired devices and 35 Mbps on wireless devices, with a latency of 34ms, indicating a stable internet connection that supports technology-based learning activities more effectively. The implementation also improved internet accessibility and network coverage across the school environment.
Hartono Wijaya, M. Fawazi Hadi
